Report a scam

Report a DeskAbroad scam or impersonator.

Scammers impersonate the DeskAbroad name to trick jobseekers into paying fake fees. The real DeskAbroad is free for candidates and will never ask you for money. If someone claiming to be DeskAbroad asked you to pay, you have met an impersonator — report it below so we can shut it down.

Warning signs of an impersonation scam

  • A recruiter contacts you on WhatsApp, Telegram, or a personal Gmail claiming to be from DeskAbroad
  • You are told you are 'selected' before any real interview
  • You are sent to a website that is not deskabroad.com to pay a fee
  • You are asked to pay for a test, training, certificate, or registration
  • You are pressured to pay quickly or 'lose the offer'

How to report it

  1. 1Do not pay anything and do not share bank, UPI, or OTP details.
  2. 2Save evidence: screenshots, the phone number, the website URL, and any names used.
  3. 3Report it to DeskAbroad through Contact Us so we can act and warn others.
  4. 4If money was involved, report to the national cybercrime helpline 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in.

If you already paid

Contact your bank immediately to try to reverse or freeze the transaction, change any shared passwords, and file a report at cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930. Then let us know through Contact Us — the details you share help us take down the impersonator faster.
